Xian Says Mom Approves Of Kim

MANILA, Philippines - Xian Lim hides no secrets from his mom, this including matters of the heart.

According to the model-actor-singer, he and his mom are very "close" and that she knows "everything" about him.

“Hindi ko na kailangang sabihin, although I still do tell. Sinasabi ko sa kanya lahat,” Lim affirmed via "The Buzz" on Sunday. "Alam niya ang nararamdaman ko towards work, towards anything.”

And this includes his ongoing pursuit of actress Kim Chiu.

Lim revealed that Chiu already has the vote of his mom. “Sabi niya Kim Chiu’s a really nice girl, she’s beautiful, she looks amazing,” he said.

Though he admits they are yet to officially become an item, Lim went on to divulge that he continues to try to show Chiu how much he cares by showering her with flowers and gifts.

"It’s more of showing my appreciation towards that really special person," he explained.

Earlier, Chiu herself attested to Lim's apparent generosity by revealing in interviews how the actor would not only give her gifts but the rest of her household as well.

“Nagugulat na lang sila maraming dalang food para sa aming lahat. Kunwari milk tea, para sa aming lahat, katulong ko, driver ko. And nagugulat sisters ko, 'yung buong bahay namin may party.”

Kim admits that she considers Lim special to her.

Lim and Chiu first worked together on the soap, "My Binondo Girl."

They are currently working together on the upcoming series " Kinakapatid Anak."

Xian Lim Takes ‘Attitude Problem’ Rumor In Stride

MANILA, Philippines – Popular singer-actor Xian Lim has finally addressed rumors alleging that he had exhibited foul behavior while taping for one of his commercials.

“May nag-explain sa akin niyan and ‘yung mga details n’ung nangyari hindi nagtugma sa mga ginawa ko’ng commercials. So it’s completely false kasi may pruweba na kung i-search pa nila yung mga ibang commercials na ginawa ko, walang ganun,” Xian told Push.com.ph in an interview posted on June 20.

With that, the actor said that he "can’t really please everyone, and ang mapapakita ko lang naman talaga sa kanila yung ako di ba? ‘Yun lang naman pinapakita ko and I’m just happy merong supporters.”

Xian would rather look at the positive side “rather than the negative,” and accepts these criticisms “para maisip ko rin na bakit kaya nila nasabi ‘yun?”

More, he expressed hope that his critics would eventually get to see “’yung totoong side of me.”

“’Pag meron silang second chance or third chance na magkita kami, maybe they can get to know me more, hindi naman ‘yung first sulyap pa lang ganun na. As much as possible happy happy lang gusto ko. Kasi kapag happy lang talagang smooth flowing eh.

“Hopefully habang tumagal ako, makita naman nila yung kakayahan,” he said, adding that he has nothing against his detractors.

Meanwhile, Xian welcomes the possibility of his current onscreen partner and “good friend” Kim Chiu working with Gerald Anderson, her former partner.

“Masaya naman ako, masaya naman ako sa kanilang dalawa. Actually it’s a Star Magic movie ‘yung gagawin nila, so gusto ko rin ‘yang mapapanood kasi iba-ibang artista magsasama-sama,” he told abs-cbnnews.com in a separate report posted also on Wednesday.

Xian and Kim are set to appear on the upcoming Kapamilya series, “Ina, Anak, Kapatid.”

Xian takes criticisms on pageant hosting stint in stride

MANILA, Philippines – Where his hosting skills are concerned, actor Xian Lim knows that he still needs to work on it.

Apparently, this issue came to light after a number of people attacked his hosting style on the “Binibining Pilipinas 2012 Grand Coronation Night” on Sunday. On Twitter, people had pointed out his “failure” to read the Spain ambassador to the Philippines Jorge Domecq’s honorific, “H.E.” (His Excellency) correctly or even addressing the ambassador as such, his constant reading off his cue cards, and frequent use of “very well” especially during the question and answer portion.

In a report on push.com.ph posted April 18, Xian admitted there’s room for him to improve, especially since it was his first big hosting stint. Seeming to take it lightly, he was also quoted to have said, “Sige, hayaan mo, sasabihin ko sa kanila, next time hindi ko na babasahin.”

The actor’s skills were further put to the test when, during the Q&A, a contestant misunderstood the question her judge asked. According to Xian, his instinct was to ask the judge to repeat the question, “But I wasn’t sure if that was okay because that’s a competition. There are rules kung ano pwede ko gawin.”

Xian insisted that he and co-hosts Iza Calzado, Venus Raj and Georgina Wilson were briefed prior, but he knew he had to be careful. In the end, the show’s director Johnny Manahan instructed him to tell the judge to repeat his question.

In related news, Xian’s leading lady and good friend Kim Chiu has defended him from accusations that he’s only using the latter to boost his popularity.

“Unfair naman ‘yong word na gamitan. Wala naman akong ginawa sa kanya. Wala naman siyang ginawa sa akin. Nagtatrabaho lang naman kami,” Kim was quoted as saying in a separate PEP report posted also on Wednesday.

The actress believes that Xian deserves the success he has attained, saying, “Wala naman akong say doon kasi talented naman ‘yong tao, e.”

Xian Lim hands off on Enrique Gil's purported moves on Kim Chiu

MANILA, Philippines – Xian Lim seems not the only guy who has eyes on Kim Chiu with Enrique Gil also rumored to be courting her.

Still, at the press conference tendered for Xian as new McDonald’s endorser, he balked at commenting on the matter, simply and playfully sipping his favorite softdrink float and gushing over its taste. Prodded to comment if he's okay with having a "rival" in Enrique, Xian chuckled and muttered, "wala... wala...," before saying he's clueless about the "issue."

He maintained that he and Enrique are friends and they regularly see each other on the set of the upcoming film, “The Reunion.”

“Of course there’s no problem,” Xian told Bulletin Entertainment and other members of the press.

More than anything, Xian only wishes for his leading lady’s happiness.

“If you care for the person, you always think about what makes her happy,” he quipped.

He and Kim have been spotted together on a few occasions—the latest of which was at Brian McKnight’s Manila concert on Mar. 16. He has also met her family though Xian maintained they’re only “good friends."

“Lagi ko naman pong sinasabi na si Kim is a very special girl… hindi ako mawawala, I’m always gonna be here for her,” he said, adding, “Enjoy naman po kami sa Brian McKnight concert.”

A hot commodity in showbiz these days, Xian is grateful to the blessings coming his way. One of these is his endorsement of McDonald’s, a brand he’s been patronizing for years. According to Xian, his favorite among the variants of the latest McFloat Summer Medley is the Blueberry Sprite Float. The other flavors in the line are Honey Banana, Four Seasons, Green Apple, and the original Coke Float.

Margot Torres, McDo’s vice-president for marketing, enthused at the same press conference that Xian embodies youthfulness and positivity that are in line with the brand's thrust.
