Gwen Zamora not in a hurry to land lead role

"I feel that wala pa akong right to make demands."

Tila nalilinya ngayon ang Kapuso actress na si Gwen Zamora sa kontrabida roles.

Huling napanood si Gwen sa Biritera kunsaan naging kontrabida siya ni Glaiza de Castro. Ngayon ay nasa malaking cast siya ng GMA primetime telefantasya na Aso Ni San Roque kunsaan kontrabida na naman ang role niya.

Pero paglilinaw ni Gwen sa PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), “Hindi naman lahat naging kontrabida ako."

“I did a guest role naman sa 'My Beloved' as the young Rio Locsin. Mabait ako doon.

“Nasa Bubble Gang naman ako and they make fun of me there.

“But in playing kontrabida, may challenge talaga.”

Isang sirena ang papel na ginagampanan ni Gwen sa 'Aso Ni San Roque.'

“I play Anaira in Aso Ni San Roque. Evil mermaid ako rito.

“Pumapatay ako ng fishermen and anybody na maliligaw sa dagat.

“Ako ang reyna ng mga aswang ng tubig.”

Sila raw nina Gardo Versoza, Angelika dela Cruz, at Paolo Contis ang evil creatures na gustong pumatay kay Mona Louise Rey, na gumaganap bilang Fatima sa kuwento.

DREAM COME TRUE. Inamin ni Gwen na isa sa mga pangarap niya noong bata siya ay ang maging isang mermaid.

“I guess every little girl naman has that wish, di ba?

“After you watch the movie The Little Mermaid, you feel na ang sarap maging sirena.

“So parang wish come true itong ibinigay nilang role sa akin sa Aso Ni San Roque. 'Yun nga lang, bad mermaid ako dito!” tawa niya.

Madalas daw kunan ang mga eksena ni Gwen na ang nasa background ay isang chroma wall. Pero meron din naman daw siyang mga eksena na kinukunan sa location.

“For authenticity sake, we have to shoot in the water. Okey naman ako sa ganyan basta hindi ako pababayaan.

“The costume, especially the mermaid’s tail is medyo mabigat.

“But that’s part of the job you are doing in this business. Nothing is really easy kaya sacrifice lang.

“At least, my wish came true, di ba? Naging mermaid ako!”


THE ART OF SEDUCTION. Kailangan nga raw ay sexy at seductive ang dating ni Gwen bilang mermaid. Mang-aakit kasi siya rito ng kanyang mga biktima.

“I always practice in front of the mirror—pinapraktis ko ang mang-seduce!” tawa niya.

“Sabi nila I don’t need to use words. Parang eyes lang ang gamitin ko para maka-seduce ako. I think nagagawa ko naman.

“Then I have to lose weight for this show.

“Wala raw mermaid na mataba!” tawa pa niya ulit.

“Kasi I have to look sexy physically, kaya I really trained and went through a diet.

“I lose naman a few pounds and I want to lose some more.

“Hindi naman sobrang sexy ang suot ko because primetime kami. May mga bata na manonood kaya careful sila sa mga dapat takpan sa body ko.

“Wholesome pa rin naman ako.”

SATISFIED. Nakaka-tatlong taon na si Gwen sa GMA-7 and so far ay wala naman daw siyang reklamo sa nangyayari sa kanyang career. Kuntento naman daw siya sa mga ibinibigay sa kanyang mga proyekto.

“I signed a five-year contract with GMA-7. Okey naman ang lahat.

“I’m not in a hurry naman to get to this stage of my career.

“There is reward in being patient, 'di ba? Hindi naman ako nawawalan ng work.

“Before Aso Ni San Roque, I did Biritera, Spooky Nights, Machete, Alakdana, and Grazilda. I’m also a regular in Bubble Gang.

“Whatever they give me, I am thankful.

"I feel that wala pa akong right to make demands.”

Umaasa ba si Gwen na mabigyan siya ng lead role balang araw, tulad sa nangyari kay Andrea Torres na bida na sa Sana Ay Ikaw Na Nga?

“Siguro someday, pero hindi pa ngayon.

“I know that Andrea has been in this business longer than I have. Kaya it’s only right that she gets that break.

“Masaya ako for people like that. I know how hard people work and they are rewarded for that.

“Ako naman, I still have to work on my Tagalog.

“Pero I’m getting better na. Okey na ako sa ibang words ng Tagalog.

“If GMA feels that I am ready, sila na rin ang magbibigay ng malaking project for me.

“I just have to wait and hope for the best.”


FAYE KABISOTE. Sa movies naman ay huling nagbida si Gwen sa Indonesian film na The Witness na kumita naman sa takilya.

Ngayon ay gaganap ulit siya bilang si Faye Kabisote sa Metro Manila Film Festival 2012 entry na Si Agimat, Si Enteng Kabisote at Ako with Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr., Vic Sotto, and Judy Ann Santos.

Sabi ni Gwen, “This is my third time to play Faye and I love working with Bossing Vic again.

“I played Faye sa unang Si Agimat at si Enteng Kabisote in 2010 and in Enteng Ng Ina Mo last year.

“Nagsu-shooting na kami because this will be shown on Christmas Day.

“I feel lucky kasi every Christmas for the past three years ay may movie ako sa MMFF.

“Sasakay ulit kami ng float and we will parade for the fans on Christmas Eve. Kaya dito ulit ako mag-Pasko because of the movie.”

How is it working with Vic for the third time?

“It’s always a pleasure to work with Bossing Vic. He’s such a gentleman on the set.

“Lagi siyang nagpapatawa sa amin sa set when people are getting tired na.

“Sila ni Jose [Manalo] and Wally [Bayola], they make us all laugh.

Heart Evangelista: 'I really want to be in a relationship that leads to getting married'

Ilang buwan na ang nakalipas mula nang huling may kasintahan ang Kapuso actress na si Heart Evangelista at sa ngayon, gusto nito na ang susunod na makarelasyon ay ang lalaking mapakakasalan niya.

"I'm 27, and by this time I'd rather be alone than be with a person that I'm not gonna end up with. And I really want to be in a relationship that leads to getting married," wika ng aktres sa panayam ni Mel Tiangco sa "Powerhouse" ng GMA News TV nitong Martes.

Isa ito sa mga dahilan kung bakit nagkahiwaly si Heart at ng huli nitong nakarelasyon na si Daniel Matsunaga.

Kwento ni Heart na bagama't may magaganda ang mga katangiang taglay ni Daniel, hindi pa rin siya ang lalaking para sa kanya.

Aniya, "Oh, he's a good guy, but because it's the cultural differences... And he's a really nice guy. He's Christian, his family is wonderful, but it's just, hindi, eh. "

Dumating na nga sa yugto ng buhay si Heart na gusto na nitong magkapamilya.

Gayunpaman, sinalaysay rin ni Heart ang naging relasyon nila ng kanyang dating kasintahan na Jericho Rosales.

Si Echo (palayaw ni Jericho) ang pinakanagtagal na karelasyon ni Heart. Tumagal ito ng tatlong taon at tila ang pinaka maingay sa lahat.

Ito ang relasyon na nag-iwan kay Heart ng malalim na sugat, lalo na nang balutin ito ng isang masakit at malaking kontrobersiya.

Wika pa nito, "And it's the first time I fell in love and just the idea of separation with your parents, you know, going against them, and this abortion thing, oh wow! and then I went pa to Hawaii and really it was perfect."

Marian Rivera, ipinaliwanag kung bakit ‘di pa siya handang magpakasal

Sa ginawang panayam ng PEP Talk ng Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP), ipinaliwanag ng Kapuso Primerime Queen na si Marian Rivera ang dahilan kung bakit hindi pa sila handang lumagay sa tahimik.

Sa naturang panayam, sinabi ni Marian dahil naniniwala siyang kailangang maging buo muna ang pagkatao ng isang tao bago pumasok sa lifetime commitment.

“Kapag sinabi kong, ‘Oo, gusto kong ikasal,’ ibig sabihin, kailangan buo ‘yong pagkatao ko. Hindi lang, ‘ay! love ko siya! Ay! kasal na tayo!’ Hindi," paliwanag ng aktres sa PEP Talk, ang kauna-unahang online showbiz talk show sa bansa.

Iginiit niya na magpapakasal lamang siya kapag buo na ang kanyang pagkatao at kapag handa na siya sa mga maaaring kahinatnan ng pagiging maybahay.

“Sa ngayon masasabi ko na mayroon pang kailangan na mabuo kay Marian Rivera para maging wife," pahayag niya.

Bukod dito, naniniwala rin ang Primetime Queen na hindi edad ang dapat maging basehan ng pagmamahal.

Nasa 30’s na ang nobyo ni Marian na si Dingdong Dantes. Samantala, nasa late 20’s naman ang Kapuso actress.

“Wala naman sa edad ‘yan, e. May mga bata nga ikinakasal na 18 years old, pero matured. May mga ikinakasal na 35 years old, pero hindi nagwo-work ang relationship. So, nasa pagkatao ‘yan," ayon kay Marian.

Wala naman daw particular tema ng kasal na naiisip si Marian.

"Siguro kahit dati pa, isa lang ang pangarap ko na wedding — basta sa church. Kahit ano pa ang suot ko diyan, basta ang gusto ko sa simbahan," aniya.

Sa kabila nito, hindi naman daw kailangang mabahala ng mga ‘Marianknights’ (Marian Rivera fans) dahil hindi niya iiwan ang showbiz kahit na ikasal na siya.

Bianca King Says Career Decision Is Not About Money

MANILA, Philippines — TV host and director Bianca King said she has all the right reasons to remain a loyal Kapuso.

Reports have it that Bianca is being groomed as the network’s next big star. She is at the moment the female lead actress of the soon-to-end soap opera “Broken Vow” and “Luna Blanca,” GMA-7’s newest primetime series. With her contract expiring in one year, rumors have it that she might be eyeing transfer. But Bianca was quick to deny: “I have all the right reasons to stay with GMA-7. It is not a question of money. It’s a question of values and integrity also.”

She added that as a Kapuso actress, she was well taken care of with TV projects.

“Kahit siguro triple pa ang i-offer nila in the future. Siguro na lang kapag wala na akong projects. Pero kung patuloy ang ganito, that every show iba ang ginagawa ko, I have all the right reasons to stay,” stressed Bianca King whose career is managed by GMA Artist Center.

“From playing a rape victim or a battered wife, my role in ‘Luna Blanca’ is a stretch because I’m painted black. It’s also the first time that my character is bubbly and cheerful despite her looks,” she remarked.

Painted black also meant making sure her facial expressions are recognized amidst her dark skin. Confident with her acting from years of portraying various TV roles, Bianca challenges herself even more in “Luna Blanca” especially since she’ll be working with actress Heart Evangelista in a lot of scenes.

“I’m excited and honored to work with Heart Evangelista na lumaki akong pinapanood sa TV and when I was still in school. Sobrang surreal na makaka-eksena ko na siya for the first time,” Bianca remarked.

Bianca said that she and Heart will be having a harmonious working relationship. There won’t even be future issues about “sapawan” because for her, she’d rather focus on delivering what’s needed to make the show interesting and enticing to watch and the same is expected from Heart.

Daniel Matsunaga refuses to comment on reported split from Heart Evangelista

MANILA, Philippines - Brapanese model Daniel Matsunaga has begged off from making any comments regarding his rumored breakup from Kapuso actress Heart Evangelista. Jonas Gaffud of Mercator Modelling Agency, which handles Daniel’s career, texted “Showbiz Central,” April, 15 to say that the model-actor is not yet ready to comment on the matter.

“I was able to talk to Daniel yesterday. For now he just wants to rest and feel positive about himself,” host Jennylyn Mercado read Jonas’ text message on “SC.”

The couple seemingly confirmed their separation on Twitter. Last Thursday, April 12, Heart tweeted a series of messages:

“Today i woke up with a different mind set:) when the end comes a new chapter begins:) its hearts time again:)”.

“Being single is embracing growth.”

“Breakups don't always mean the other one was bad or we didn't love each other it could just be…we were too different.”

Daniel also seemed to have dropped hints that he and Heart had reached Splitsville, with this tweet: “Cant be happy at this moment guys...God bless u all...thanks for the words....i am sure u all know what is happening....:(”

Heart and Daniel admitted being a couple in the September 26, 2010 episode of “SC.”

When asked if she loves Daniel, Heart replied, “The feeling is mutual. Yes, puwede.”

Daniel unabashedly admitted then that they were in a relationship. “Yes po,” he replied when asked if Heart was already his girlfriend.

On Oct. 17, 2010, Heart professed her love for Daniel.

“Ill be honest. Siyempre in life you want everything to work out especially this one kasi for me ito siguro ‘yung pinaka-best. Parang kinikilig talaga ako every time,” she said.

She, however, remained guarded and even added, “Nothing is certain in life.”

“Ini-enjoy ko na lang ‘yung moment. If it doesn’t last, I mean, at least I got to experience something wonderful,” she said.

Daniel and Heart went on a three-week vacation in Brazil, which afforded the latter to meet the former’s family.

“It’s just really good. Kaming dalawa we’re very blessed to have each other,” Heart said about the trip, adding that she’d learned “to do a lot of things on my own.”

“They [Daniel’s family] really took care of me everyday. Talagang pinasaya nila ako,” she said.

In December 2010, Daniel expressed mused about the idea of a big wedding, just like his sister’s.

“I would like to have something that my sister just had,” he said. But, ever practical, he was still waiting more opportunities for “big earnings” and “savings.”

He hinted that the wedding might happen the following year.

“Baka sa susunod na taon pero I need to work first because I want to be the one to handle everything,” he said then.

Lately, though, Heart has been posting messages from TheseDamnQuote, an account that tweets “love, life [and] relationship quotes,” like:

“People say you don't know what you have until it's gone...truth is, you knew what you had, you just thought you'd never lose it.”

Another tweet, which just about summed up her relationship with Daniel, said, “Relationships are like broken glass. Sometimes it’s better to leave them broken than hurt yourself trying to put the pieces back together.”

Two of Heart’s friends managed to give comforting messages to the actress.

“She knows naman I love her and I’m always here for her,” Lovi Poe said.

Marian Rivera looks back on Cambodian trip with Dingdong Dantes

MANILA, Philippines – Kapuso actress Marian Rivera had a short but sweet vacation with her reel-and-real life sweetheart Dingdong Dantes in Cambodia during the Holy Week.

It was Marian herself who chose the said Asian country for their destination. Dingdong, on the other hand, made the arrangements.

“Gusto namin ibang set-up naman. Kasi sa pinupuntahan namin palaging magsha-shopping o kaya kailangan palaging may bibilhin so this time... gusto namin ‘yung medyo kakaiba at napili namin ‘yung Cambodia,” said Marian in an interview with “24 Oras,” April 12.

They had, reportedly, initially planned to visit China; however, they didn’t have enough time to accomplish the travel visa requirements. Nevertheless, Marian enthused that she and Dingdong enjoyed their three-day stay in Cambodia, marveling over its beauty and culture.

Dingdong even tweeted a photo of him and Marian last April 7 inside what seems to be a temple, quipping, “Temple run ba kamo?”

The showbiz couple was happily surprised by the throng of Cambodian fans that warmly welcomed them upon their arrival. The two enjoy a certain degree of popularity in the said country, since their 2008 TV series “Dyesebel” is currently being aired there.

Marian related that she and Dingdong were called their characters’ names in the soap opera, Isabel and Fredo, respectively.

“Tapos ang pangalan ko do'n Macha. Ibig sabihin ‘Princess of the Ocean.’ Iniba nila ‘yung title. Pero ‘yun pa rin, ‘Dyesebel’ pa rin,” she added.

Meanwhile, one of their previous TV projects, “Endless Love” (the Filipino adaptation of the hit Koreanovela), is also reportedly popular in Malaysia. Marian intimated that Dingdong would visit the Philippines’ neighboring country to promote the show.

“Si Dong kasi sure na makakapunta sa Malaysia, ako kasi hindi dahil kailangan kong habulin ‘yung ‘Tweets for my Sweets’ [sitcom] kaya kailangan kong mag-taping na…,” said Marian.
