Al Galang on Vicki Belo: 'Well I'm just happy that she seems way more at peace these days'

PEP EXCLUSIVE. “Sila ba?"

This was the question of some guests who noticed the sweetness of Dra. Vicki Belo and Al Galang at the birthday party of Ruffa Gutierrez last June 30.

In an interview with GMA News 24 Oras, the famous beauty doctor was quick to say that her yoga instructor is just a “good friend."

The sightings, she said, can be explained because of this project called “Belofy Me," which is the first and only free cosmetic surgery simulation mobile app for iPhone and iPad in the Philippines.

Dra. Vicki added, “He’s helping with the app. Siguro kaya lagi kami natsi-tsismis kasi lagi kami magkasama developing the app."

Back to her love life, Dra. Vicki said she's setting an age requirement this time.

Smiling, she quipped, “Ayoko na ng young kasi nahihirapan talaga ako. Kung gustong mag-apply, mga 35, 45, 50, puwede…"

One thing she didn't explain: their reported sweetness.

"DON'T QUALIFY YET…" Earlier, PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) received a video showing what was described by the sender a "sweet moment" between the beauty doctor and the yoga instructor.

The sender, who also attended Ruffa's party, requested for anonymity.

To settle the real score, we got in touch with Al via text, and informed him about the video.
His reply (published as is): “Well I'm just happy that she seems way more at peace these days :) its such a breath of fresh air not to see her in pain."

The last time we spoke to him about Dra. Vicki was sometime in February, when his name was dragged into the controversial breakup of the latter with Hayden Kho, Jr.

We asked a follow-up question: is he “partly causing that glow or happiness" of the beauty doctor?

Al answered, “obviously I can't say if it's really me that's making her bloom, but I know I've tried my best lately to help her get groove back :)"

When asked about the media’s speculation, he simply said, “I thought that was done :p"

Lastly, with regard to Dra. Vicki’s statement on the real score between her and Al, here’s what the 32-year-old (one blogger said he’s 28) hunk told PEP:

“As far as I know though, she set an age minimum for her next guy, and I definitely don't qualify yet!" -- Karen A. Pagsolingan, PEP

Belo’s Beseech: Put ‘App’ On Top

MANILA, Philippines—Fired up by the phenomenal reception to the Belofied app when it was released in the Mac App store two weeks ago, beauty doctor to the stars Vicki Belo calls on the public to make July 2, 2012, “Belofied” Day.

“Kung sabay-sabay tayo magdownload nung Belofied App on Monday, July 2, malamang pumasok ito sa Top 10 ng free iPhone Apps under the Medical Category worldwide, though ang wish talaga namin ay magnumber one ito,” Belo said at a press conference tendered July 29.

The doctor added that if her call bears fruit, it would be the first time for any app from the Philippines to top the iTunes list under the category.

The Belofied app is both educational and entertaining. Aside from listing the services of the Belo Medical Group, it gives users an idea about some “beauty” procedures they might want to avail such as botox treatment or liposuction. The app also has a “Belofy Me” feature that allows users to manipulate the images on their phones by using shrink, expand and mold buttons. Though results may not be as exact as when one goes under the knife, it could be pretty close to it.

During the conference, Belo, her daughter Cristalle Henares, and the app creator and rumored boyfriend, Al Galang, demonstrated to media how to use the “Belofy Me” feature of the app. They also proudly reported that the Belofied App cornered the number one spot of free iPhone app ranking under Medical Category in the Philippines upon release.

And though it has so far “only” landed on 59th place on the list of free iPhone Apps under the Medical Category worldwide, they noted that it’s the highest ranking app from the Philippines when the survey results came out.

Henares pointed out that a photo can be edited in detailed manner by using the “zoom” button and that a tilt of the iPhone or iPad in landscape mode gives a split-screen view of before and after shots. More, before and after photos can be generated using the app.

To download the Belofied app, type the word Belofied on the search bar in the Mac App Store. The app is compatible with iPhone 4, iPhone 4s, iPod Touch (4th generation), iPad 2 wi-fi, iPad 2 wi-fi + 3G, iPad (3rd generation) and iPad wi-fi +4G. Requires iOs 5 or later.

Henares, who is handling the Beauty Deo product of the group, said that they hope to make the word “Belofy” into a sort of “slang” verb synonymous to beautifying someone or something.
