“R-H-I-A-N-N-A.”
That’s Cogie Domingo spelling out the name of his new-born baby daughter to InterAksyon during a phone interview on Saturday.
He said her nickname is ”Rain” because the girl arrived during the recent onslaught of monsoon rains that submerged most of Metro Manila and neighboring provinces.
“She was six pounds nu’ng ipinanganak. Medyo kulot po pero nagbabago pa naman ‘yun, pag lumalaki , di ba?” Cogie said.
He said Rhianna has a fair complexion, like her dad. “Actually mapula-pula pa siya ngayon,” the actor said.
Cogie said the baby’s mother is his childhood sweetheart but declined to give her name. They plan to have the baby baptized soon, perhaps next week.
But asked if a wedding is in the cards, the actor said they have not yet discussed the matter.
Cogie had announced the birth of his daughter during a phone patch interview with Cristy Fermin on the new TV5 talk show “Ang Latest” earlier on Saturday.
“Di ko po masabi,e, pero mixed emotions po. And natutuwa talaga ako. Kamukha ko naman daw po,” Cogie replied.
The actor will turn 27 on Wednesday, August 15, and he believes Rhianna’s arrival is the best birthday gift he could ask for.
He said he expects fatherhood to bring a major change in his life. ”Naku marami pong mababago sa buhay ko at para sa akin po lahat ng kaya kong ibigay, ibibigay ko para sa magandang kinabukasan para sa bata,” Cogie concluded.
