Marian To Star In New GMA Sitcom

MANILA, Philippines – Marian Rivera is gearing up for a show that will allow her to pit acting talents with comedic greats Nova Villa and Roderick Paulate.

In an interview with “Unang Hirit,” aired April 10, Rivera said that the new show, dubbed “Tweets for my Sweets,” is quite a welcome change inasmuch as she already misses doing comedy.

The last sitcom that the 27-year old actress did was “Show Me Da Manny” two years ago.

Rivera acknowledges that working with Villa and Paulate is a “dream come true.”

More, Rivera is also happy that the show also touches on her favorite pursuit, cooking.

She has expressed excitement that the show will allow her to work with one of her icons, Chef Boy Logro of “Kusina Master.”

“Sobrang blessed ako sa sitcom na ito,” said the Filipina-Spanish beauty.

Meanwhile, Regal Entertainment Inc. also announced that they have tapped Rivera to star with ABS-CBN actor Coco Martin in a yet-to-be-titled movie to be released this year.

In a post on its Facebook page last week, Regal detailed that the film will be megged by Maryo J. de los Reyes.

This is the first time Rivera and Martin will star in a movie together.

Rivera started her showbiz career as a model.

She began acting in 2005 via several soap operas including "Kung

Mamahalin Mo Lang Ako," "Agawin Mo Man Ang Lahat" and "Pinakamamahal."

She gained stardom in 2007 when she landed the lead part in the remake of the hit telenovela, "MariMar," which became the highest-rated primetime show on Philippine television at that time.
