Jessica Sanchez to treat Pinoy fans to live Skype party on Sunday

Only two months after Jessica Sanchez won first runner-up in the 11th season of the top-rated reality talent search program, “American Idol,” the 16-year old Filipino-Mexican sweetheart continues to make news in a very good way.

As if singing the American national anthem in the recent boxing match between Manny Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley and a locked up record deal with Interscope aren’t enough, Jessica is also slated to appear in the hit musical TV series “Glee” and is also in the running to play Kim in the long-awaited film version of “Miss Saigon.”

She’s also now happily making beautiful music with fellow Season 11 finalist, DeAndre Brackensick, whom she now calls her boyfriend.

And oh, yes, her Metro Manila fans can’t wait to see her perform with DeAndre and the other finalists of “AI 11″ in their only concert in Asia called “American Idol Live! Tour” presented by Ovation Productions this coming September 21st at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

For now, their fans are going to have the next best thing as they’re going to have the rare opportunity to bond with Jessica herself through a live Skype Session on Sunday, July 29, from 10AM onwards at the SM Megamall Event Center situated at the mall’s former ice skating rink area.

Dubbed as “The Ultimate Jessica Sanchez SKYPE Party!,” the event presented by MCA Music and Astroplus, will allow the singer to personally interact with fans using the Skype voice-over internet protocol application.

Aside from bonding with Jessica online, fans will also be treated to fun games where they can win exclusive Jessica Sanchez signed items and meet-and-greet passes to the “American Idol Live! Tour” concert.

Asia’s Acoustic Sweetheart Sabrina will also grace the event with a guest performance.

When asked about Jessica during his recent Manila stop, “American Idol” Season 7 champ David Cook has this to say.

“To hear her sing is ridiculous, she’s just really, really good and what’s scary about it is that she’s still young.”

David added that Jessica also comes across to him as sincere.

“I think in my experience with the show the last four years, I sometimes meet contestants that are very sweet and very sincere. And sometimes you meet somebody who’s maybe been through a little bit more, so they’re a little bit more professional and it’s a bit harder to kind of see the real person behind it. Jessica is definitely somebody who immediately came of as sincere to me,” he says.

The “Jessica Sanchez: American Idol Season 11 Highlights” album is also out now in CDs exclusively under MCA Music.

Pinoy fans 'angry,' in disbelief, after Pacquiao loses to Bradley

After Sarangani Rep. and boxing icon Manny Pacquiao lost to American fighter Timothy Bradley in the United States on Saturday (Sunday in Manila), Filipino netizens took to Twitter to express their disappointment over the judges' decision after the 12-round fight.

Pacquiao surrendered his WBO welterweight title to Bradley on a split decision at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

It was Pacquiao's first defeat since he lost to Erik Morales in Las Vegas in March 2005, ending the eight-weight division champion's run of 15 consecutive wins.

After the decision was announced, Pacquiao said he respects the younger boxer but that he believes "I won the fight."

Both Pacquiao and Bradley said they were open to a rematch in November this year.

On Twitter, Pacquiao fans -- Filipinps and foreigners alike -- expressed their disappointment and disbelief over the result of the fight:

Kirk Gimenez ‏@KirkSNY: "#PacBradley what just happened?!?! Rigged!!! Pacquiao was robbed!!!!! No way Bradley won that fight."

Ben Adler ‏@badler: "This bradley pacquiao decision is insane. Pacquiao dominated this whole fight, landed twice as many punches. Corrupt? Political?"

Railey Valeroso ‏@RaileyValeroso: "Bradley beats Pacquiao by split decision after getting knocked around the entire fight. And you thought the NBA was rigged."

Doug Liquori ‏@Padgoi: "If anyone thinks that boxing isn't fixed after this bogus PacquiaoBradley decision, you're insane. What a joke! Disgraceful!"

ringmagazine Michael: Kellerman is saying credible people at ringside had Bradley winning. If they scored it for Bradley, they're not credible. #boxing"

ringmagazine Michael: "Pacquiao has done so much for the sport; he's the last guy who should've been cheated like this.#boxing"

dougiefischer: "Bob Arum can't believe it. He's shrugging his shoulders to the media -- Timmy getting booed now during post-fight interview #boxing"

ringmagazine Michael: That is without question the worst decision I have ever seen. This is just a disgrace. I'm ready to give up on this sport. #boxing"

dougiefischer: "I've seen it all now. I'm living in Bizarro World. I thought maybe one could argue 116-112 or 115-113 for Pacquiao, but this? #boxing"
