Lindsay Lohan wants to meet Putin, Russian TV host says
MOSCOW | Troubled U.S. star Lindsay Lohan has demanded a meeting with President Vladimir Putin in return for appearing on a Russian chat show, its host said, confirming U.S. media reports.
Andrei Malakhov, who hosts the top-rating “Pust Govoryat” or “Let Them Talk” show, told LifeNews Russian website late Sunday that Lohan “really does have a desire to meet the Russian president.”
“I don’t know what she wants to discuss with him — saving Amur tigers or the problems of people with drug addiction,” he said.
U.S. entertainment news site TMZ earlier said that Lohan sent Russian Channel One television a list of demands including a meeting with Putin and photos with him as well as a private jet, a one-year visa and a fee of 500,000 British pounds ($650,000).
“The actual fee was a little lower,” Malakhov told LifeNews.
“I also want to earn 80 million a year and have dinner with the Queen, but dreams and reality are different things. You need to look at the situation soberly — unlike Lindsay Lohan,” Malakhov was quoted as saying.
He posted a link to the LifeNews report on his official Twitter account, along with a message calling Lohan a “naughty girl.”
A spokeswoman for Channel One earlier on Sunday confirmed to RIA Novosti news agency that Lohan had been asked to appear on the show, but said the conditions had not yet been discussed and the TMZ report “did not correspond to reality.”
Lohan, a 30-year-old former child star who appeared in hit films “The Parent Trap,” “Freaky Friday” and “Mean Girls” has struggled with drug addiction.
Russian television wants to interview her about her relationship with Russian-born Egor Tarabasov, whose father is reportedly a businessman from Moscow. Lohan has accused Tarabasov of violent abuse.
Putin in 2010 met Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio at a summit on protecting tigers but has failed to set a date for a meeting with British singer Elton John to discuss gay rights.

Lindsay Lohan: Pregnant, or April Fools' Joke?
Is she pregnant, or only joking?
"Its official. Pregnant…" Lindsay Lohan wrote on Twitter overnight, although the timing of the announcement was certainly suspicious.
If it was an April Fools' joke, it was a late one, posted after midnight ET. Then again, lateness is a Lohan specialty – she was an hour tardy to her crucial court hearing last month, and also missed her flight back to the U.S. from Brazil on Monday.
If it's not a joke and she is indeed expecting, the actress, 26, will be in for an unusual first few months of pregnancy.
She's been ordered to serve 90 days in a rehab center under lock and key – and undergo psychotherapy and perform community service – after pleading no contest to reckless driving and lying to police last June, when she crashed her Porsche.

Judge refuses to dismiss car crash charges against Lindsay Lohan
LOS ANGELES - A Los Angeles judge refused on Friday to dismiss the reckless driving and obstruction case against actress Lindsay Lohan and said the "Mean Girls" star would stand trial later this month in connection with her 2012 car crash.
Lohan, 26, was charged with reckless driving, lying to police and obstructing police - all misdemeanors - after her Porsche luxury sports car smashed into a truck on June 8, 2012, in Santa Monica, California.
The actress, who has been in out of trouble since 2007 and had her probation revoked for a 2011 theft in which she pleaded no contest, told police she was not driving the car at the time of the accident. She has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
At a brief hearing on Friday, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge James Dabney rejected defense lawyer Mark Heller's argument that Lohan was unlawfully questioned by police following the 2012 car crash.
The judge also refused Heller's request that Lohan's trial be pushed back to the first week of April. Lohan, who was not present at the hearing, will stand trial as scheduled on March 18, Dabney ruled.
The actress faces three months to a year in jail on each misdemeanor charge if convicted, though a prison sentence is seen as unlikely in the case. Lohan also could go to jail if she is found to have violated the terms of her probation.
Earlier this week Heller told reporters that Lohan had started a new round of psychotherapy and wanted to give inspirational speeches to school kids in a bid to turn her life around.

New York court date in Lindsay Lohan car accident case cancelled
NEW YORK - Embattled U.S. actress Lindsay Lohan appears to be off the hook after being arrested for leaving the scene of an accident last month when her Porsche allegedly clipped a pedestrian in an alley behind an upscale Manhattan hotel.
New York prosecutors said Lohan's scheduled court appearance on Tuesday had been cancelled. No future court date was scheduled, an indication the district attorney has decided not to move forward with the case.
"Apparently prosecutors agreed that there wasn't enough to proceed." said Lohan's spokesman, Steve Honig. "This turned out to be nothing just like we said from the very beginning."
The 26-year-old actress, who has been in and out of court, rehab and prison since a 2007 drunk driving arrest in Los Angeles, was charged on Sept. 19 with a misdemeanor after a man said he had been hit by the actress' car behind the Dream hotel.
Police issued Lohan a ticket with a court date of Oct. 23.
A spokeswoman for the Manhattan District Attorney's office declined to comment on why the case against the "Mean Girls" actress was not moving ahead.
A week after the incident in New York, Lohan reportedly got into a public spat with a man who she said refused to delete pictures he had taken of her from his phone. She claimed the man assaulted her, but charges were later dropped.
Earlier this month, police on Long Island responded to an early-morning 911 call about a verbal dispute involving Lohan and her mother, Dina, but made no arrests, a spokeswoman for the Nassau County police said.

Lindsay Lohan assaulted in New York hotel, man arrested
NEW YORK – Actress Lindsay Lohan was attacked by a man in a New York hotel on Sunday, her spokesman said, in what media reports described as a scuffle over her demands that photos of her be deleted from his cellphone.
Lohan suffered minor injuries following the Sunday morning attack, spokesman Steve Honig said in a statement.
Her assailant was arrested, Honig said. A spokeswoman for the New York City Police Department did not immediately comment.
Celebrity website TMZ.com, citing sources close to the actress, identified the attacker as a man Lohan met at a New York nightclub.
The two began arguing in Lohan’s hotel room after she noticed he was taking pictures of her with his cellphone, TMZ and E! News reported.
Lohan told police the man threw her to the ground, climbed on top of her and tried to choke her before someone else pulled him off, TMZ said.
Honig declined comment on the media reports.
The 26-year-old actress, who has been in and out of court, rehab and prison in recent years, was arrested in New York last week after a pedestrian told police that her car struck him in an alley. She was charged with leaving the scene of an accident, a misdemeanor.

Lindsay Lohan Dresses Like Cleopatra for Elizabeth Taylor Biopic

Glimpses onto the set of Lifetime's Liz & Dick biopic have shown Lindsay Lohan channeling Elizabeth Taylor's beauty, glamour and grace with the success of a Hollywood veteran.
And as filming for the movie wraps up, Lohan slips into one of Taylor's most iconic roles – as Cleopatra from the 1963 film.
In a photo snapped between takes Monday, seemingly on a cigarette break, Lohan passes for the Queen of the Nile in a choppy black wig and gold heels (shoes that Angelina Jolie was once rumored to fill in a film about Cleopatra based on a recent biography).
And Lohan had plenty to celebrate when the wig came off: She turned 26, a milestone that was marked with her wrapping filming.
"Thank you all for the birthday wishes!" she Tweeted. "Also – that's a wrap on 'Liz & Dick' – thank you to all my fans, crew members, friends & lifetime!"

Lindsay Lohan Ends Probation

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – A smiling Lindsay Lohan was released on Thursday from almost five years of formal probation, and told by a Los Angeles judge to grow up and stop clubbing.
Actress Lohan, 25, who has made multiple trips to court, jail and rehab since a 2007 drunk driving and cocaine possession arrest, was praised for completing months of community service at a Los Angeles morgue and court-ordered psychotherapy.
"She has done everything that this court has asked of her," Los Angeles Superior Court judge Stephanie Sautner said. "Probation terminates today. Now."
Lohan, dressed conservatively in a powder blue pants suit and black top, let out a sigh of relief and hugged her attorney.
Although the "Mean Girls" actress will remain on informal probation until 2014 for a 2011 jewelry theft, she will not have to report regularly to court and will no longer be compelled to live in Los Angeles, as long as she stays out of trouble.
Sautner sent Lohan on her way with words of warning. "I know it is kind of hard when people are following you all over the place, but that is the life you chose. You need to live your life in a more mature way. Stop the nightclubbing and focus on your work."
"I don’t expect to see you again," Sautner added. "Goodbye and good luck."
Lohan’s once promising movie career was derailed by the 2007 arrest, years of hard partying, missed court dates and failed drug tests that saw her probation extended repeatedly.
But the former "Parent Trap" child star is now on the comeback trail. She posed for Playboy, hosted TV sketch show "Saturday Night Live," has an upcoming guest part in TV musical "Glee" and a TV movie role as screen legend Elizabeth Taylor.
On Thursday, she thanked Sautner for helping her turn her life around. "I just want to say thank you, your honor, for being fair. It has really opened a lot of doors for me."
Lohan later told celebrity website TMZ.com in a phone call that ending probation "has just been a tremendous weight that has lifted off my shoulders."
The actress, who has said that parties are no longer her thing, told TMZ she wanted to put the focus back on her acting career, adding "I have not been to a club for I can’t tell you how long."
"I am honored to be playing Elizabeth Taylor," she said of her upcoming role as the former child star. "There are a lot of similarities (in her life) that I can relate to."source: mb.com.ph
