Get it, girl

MANILA, Philippines - Replicating the beauty of Milan Fashion Week is tricky. At once, simple and fresh, the looks are deceptively easy, involving deft highlighting and a clean, flawless finish. The secret is this: Don’t pile on the makeup. Use your fingers. Keep things light.

Here, YStyle offers the step-by-step breakdown of the looks at BluGirl and Moschino.

Beautiful at BluGirl

“The key is to appear poetic on the runway, beautiful and fresh,” says key makeup artist Maud Laceppe, who conceptualized the look at Blu Girl.

First, Laceppe preps the skin with Complete Comfort Creme to fully hydrate and then moisturizes lips with conditioners.

She utilizes MAC Face & Body Foundation to create a flawless and radiant base, making sure to blend over the ears and neck.

She dots Pro Longwear Concealer and Select MoistureCover around the eyes and nose and taps into skin with a gentle finger to blend.

Using her finger, she applies Electric Spring lipstick, which comes out next year, to the low front apple of the cheek, then tops with Mineralize Blush in Dainty over the top of the cheek for “extra pop.”

She paints Cream Color Base in Shell and Luna with her fingers to highlight cupid’s bow, bridge of nose, cheekbones and eyelids.

She combs brows, leaving them natural.

Using Zoom Lash in Lofty Brown, she creates a wet effect with no texture on the top lash only.

She presses Electric Spring lipstick onto the center of the lips.

The look is finished with Invisible Set Powder placed down the sides of the nose.

Making Moschino

“The girls don’t want to look like a clown but they want to play,” says Tom Pecheux of the look at Moschino, where a bold lip and startling lashes ruled.
MAC Fascinating Eye Kohl

Pecheux spritzed MAC’s Fix Plus over the skin to hydrate and refresh.

He massaged Prep and Prime Moisture Infusion onto skin to soothe, revive and instantly replenish, followed with Select MoistureCover dotted over skin to perfect portions that need slight coverage.

To outline the eyes, he applied Fascinating Eye Kohl through the waterline and layered with Gesso Eye Shadow with 219 pencil to set. Fluttering 35 Lash, trimmed, was set above the upper lash line for drama, while slightly shorter 33 Lash was placed on lower lashline, then finished with Haute & Naughty Mascara.

He combed through the brow and drew Deep Dark Brunette Luxe Brow straight through to accentuate the shape. “It’s about the shape of the eyebrow, the wing,” says Pecheux. “It’s organic.”

He painted Morange lipstick over the pout then topped with a glossy coat of Clear Lipglass.
