Exclusive App Upgrades PLDT Telpad

MANILA, Philippines — Philippine Long Distance Telecommunications (PLDT), the country’s largest telecommunications company, launched TelMeHow, an exclusive application of its latest product Telpad.

The said application has already been introduced to the public through a TV commercial, which features a daughter creating a surprise for her parents, a French-themed dinner. In the ad, the girl accessed TelMeHow’s applications to learn her basic French vocabulary and the instructions on how to cook the dishes.

PLDT Marketing Services head, Raul Alvarez said that the newly launched application can help PLDT subscribers to discover new skills and learnings or even develop their talents. “TelMeHow can help a lot because it has features that can teach you how to cook (just like in the TV commercial), basic interior design, photography and fashion.”

During the launch, PLDT had a line-up of experts who helped in the successful demonstration of this application. The line-up included fashion photographer Paul Ticzon, cooking expert Erwan Heusaff fashion designer Sassa Jimenez, radio and TV personality Winnie Cordero and freelance stylist Bea Constantino. Heusaff and Jimenez said that they will add more instructional videos to the cooking and fashion categories, respectively.

Subscribers may also look forward to new categories, such as a section on cars, which will feature some tips on how to improve and make one’s ride more exciting. People who love having gigs and parties should also expect an extremely useful category about managing and organizing an event. Another soon-to-be-uploaded category is the fitness category for people who are conscious of their heath and wellness.

“Content is very important to us. It really helps a lot,” PLDT Home Marketing head Dan Ibarra said. He also added that the launching of this new application is a big help to a lot of subscribers. “TelMeHow application is very convenient to use and easy to learn. It is very relevant to the market, to the users, to the youth and to family members.”

The PLDT Telpad has two models: Telpad Wave 2.3, which runs on Android Gingerbread 2.3, and the latest S7 Slim, which has 8GB internal memory, 512 MB RAM and 1GHz Qualcomm processor. S7 Slim also has a 0.3-megapixel front and a 3 MP rear camera for still shots, capture and video conferencing.
