"I’m alive! I’m so alive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" is how Filipino musician Karl Roy declared his passion for life on Facebook Saturday, March 10.
But Roy —famous frontman for musical acts Kapatid, P.O.T. and Advent Call— passed away just three days later, after succumbing to cardiac arrest following a stroke.
He was 43 years old.
Roy first suffered a stroke in March 2008. After undergoing a heart bypass operation, the local music icon bounced back and continued singing with a renewed passion for life.
The one thing he needed to survive, Roy said in an 2009 interview with Rogue magazine, is the people who love him.
"I need people to inspire me, to validate what I'm feeling is real," he said.
