Goodyear launches new Assurance TripleMax rain tire

MANILA, Philippines - Goodyear Philippines, one of the leaders in the Philippine tire industry, recently launched its latest innovation and secret weapon for the rainy season: their new Assurance TripleMax (ATM) tires. Assurance TripleMax tires are the first to exploit Goodyear’s latest Hydrogrip technology that delivers maximum grip for maximum road safety. The product line was designed for midsize passenger vehicles and comes in 14-inch to 17-inch rim diameters and in various widths.

“Setting a new standard in tire innovation, the Assurance Triplemax uses Hydrogrip Technology, a Goodyear proprietary technology that allows drivers to reduce braking distances by more than two meters on wet roads compared to other tires in the market today,” claimed Managing Director for Goodyear Philippines, Ron Castro at the press launch held in Solaire.

Goodyear’s Hydrogrip Technology basically promises to deliver three primary attributes, hence the name ‘TripleMax: maximum wet grip, maximum control and maximum braking ability. The former is achieved through the usage of a functionalized polymer (silica) tread compound that provides improved molecular bonding, increasing robustness even on different temperatures and significantly improving traction.

Control is meanwhile encouraged by the increased rubber contact with the road, and likewise by optimized pressure distribution on the tire’s block elements. Finally, the ATM tires are bestowed with biting edges with large block elements—and these provide for increased road contact, which helps shorten braking distances.

Beyond safety, consumers also seek robustness and ecological significance in their tires. Thus the new ATM tires offer a unique property: they are reinforced with Dupont Kevlar, a lightweight material (commonly used in military-grade equipment) that maintains stiffness and strength even under high temperatures (when the tire is in motion). The tire’s rigid inner lining helps it hold its shape and remain in full contact with the ground, and prevents any tire distortion. Collectively, this delivers increased tire longevity and added protection.

Furthermore, the new ATM tires boast of cutting-edge rolling resistance and low intra-molecular friction, thereby requiring less energy to move, and consequently resulting in better fuel mileage for your car. In fact they claim that the total amount of savings you can get from reduced fuel consumption for the duration of the lifespan of the ATM tires (compared to using other tire brands) will be roughly the equivalent of the cost of three new tires!

“The Assurance TripleMax is Goodyear’s response to deliver to consumers a tire they’ve always wanted—one which focuses on increasing grip to improve safety, while also extending tire lifespan and maximizing fuel savings,” remarked Castro.

Goodyear has now also tied-up with the AAP (Automobile Association of the Philippines), to provide roadside assistance coverage for motorists who buy at least two new Assurance TripleMax tires.
