Shay Mitchell takes Manila by storm anew, frolics in Boracay

After arriving in the country on the same day as the press conference of “Pretty Little Liars” co-star Troian Bellisario last February 27, Shay Mitchell immediately went down to business the following day as she officially opened the American Eagle Outfitters store at Bonifacio High Street in Taguig City with a fashion show she co-hosted with Raymond Gutierrez.

The event, which was also graced by celebrities like Kris Aquino, Zsa Zsa Padilla, sisters Gretchen and Marjorie Barretto and US Ambassador to the Philippines Harry Thomas, also featured celebrity daughters like Dominique Cojuangco (Gretchen’s daughter by partner Tonyboy Cojuangco), Juliana Barretto (Marjorie’s daughter by comedian Dennis Padilla) and Juliana Gomez (daughter of Richard Gomez and Lucy Torres).

The following day, the 25-year old Fil-Canadian actress was back in the same store with an exclusive meet and greet with fans. She did not speak with the media but gamely posed for InterAksyon.

Although Shay’s official Twitter account never showed any direct tweets between her and both Troian and her boyfriend Patrick J. Adams, she did reveal where she was off to next—and it wasn’t Palawan where the two were believed to be still enjoying themselves as of this writing.

“Cheers! Thank you Boracay for the sun, sand and relaxation time starting now…,” went her tweet Saturday morning.

Best known for her role as Emily Fields, one of the four lead characters of the hit teen mystery drama series, “Pretty Little Liars”, Shay was in town last December to promote the show before proceeding on what she later revealed to be a planned vacation in El Nido Resorts in Palawan.

Born in Ontario, Canada to a Filipino mother, Precious Garcia, and Irish/Scottish father, Mark Mitchell, she is also a first cousin of Lea Salonga and is also related to dancer-actress and frequent “Talentadong Pinoy” judge Regine Tolentino.

“Pretty Little Liars” is carried in the Philippines by ETC, a cable channel of Solar Entertainment.
