MANILA, Philippines - Jake Cuenca is still not keen on getting into a new relationship after a year since his tumultuous breakup with actress Melissa Ricks.
According to Cuenca, his being single helped his career as actor and model as both pursuits have been getting his undivided attention.
"Timely lang siguro kasi di ko rin… Mahirap ring i-fullfil 'yung [work] schedule [kung] maraming bagay na nasa utak mo," said he to PEP.
But the 24-year old insisted that he isn't consciously trying to "block" the idea of falling in love again.
“Kasi, siyempre, masarap naman talaga magka-girlfriend, e," he said adding that he is actually hoping for it to happen "in the near future."
The Real Score
Cuenca insists there is no truth to rumors linking him romantically to Lovi Poe.
“She’s a good friend and I want to keep her as a friend—and she’s very special to me," he maintained.
Asked about the possibility of romance developing between them, Cuenca was seemingly hesitant, suggesting that he's too busy to entertain the idea.
“Hindi birong gumawa ng dalawang teleserye nang sabay-sabay," he maintained referring to time spent doing "Kung Ako’y Iiwan Mo" and "Kahit Puso’y Masugatan."
Riding Solo
Cuenca, however, admitted that Poe is his first and only choice as date in this year's Star Magic Ball.
“Pero aalis ‘ata siya, e. She’s going to Japan," he shared. “Wala, e, ganun, busy. And naintindihan ko naman 'yun—work comes first.”
Cuenca is lukewarm to suggestions that he should instead pick from his current leading ladies Iza Calzado, Andi Eigenmann, Shaina Magdayao and Bangs Garcia.
"Siyempre, I don’t want to be unfair to any of my leading ladies," explained Cuenca. "So I’m just gonna ride solo. Look forward to seeing all my friends, my co-workers—masaya na lang."
Going Out With A Bang
Meanwhile, Cuenca announced that he is all set to be part of Bench Universe 2012, the 25th anniversary underwear-and-denim fashion show of the popular clothing brand.
He enjoined fans to watch the show as it just might be his last.
“Siyempre, ilang beses ko na nagawa and, 'di ba, parang ayaw ko namang magsawa ang tao sa akin," he said.
But it's not as if he won't make his supposedly last stint special for his followers.
“I want to ramp with a big bang! Tingnan ninyo na lang. I want to consider na this will be my last one, so expect the unexpected!”article source: mb.com.ph
