Feisty talent manager Annabelle Rama-Guteirrez on Saturday apologized to the family of the late Comedy King Rodolfo "Dolphy" Vera Quizon for a scene with a showbiz reporter during the ace comedian's wake Friday night.
Rama-Gutierrez said she got into a confrontation with the reporter, who a report on dzBB radio identified as Chito Alcid at the Heritage Park in Taguig City.
"To Zsa Zsa and the Quizon family, I am so sorry for what had happened at the dining area of the Heritage. I was provoked by a fake reporter," Annabelle said on her Twitter account shortly after midnight Friday.
She was referring to her confrontation with reporter Chito Alcid, who had been writing items critical about her daughter Ruffa.
The confrontation started at the comfort room area of the Heritage Park and extended to the dining area.
Before her tweets about the incident, Annabelle had mentioned she was at Dolphy's wake Friday night, sponsored by Sampaguita stars.
A report on the Philippine Entertainment Portal quoted Alcid as saying he is mulling criminal charges against Rama-Gutierrez, including possible frustrated murder.
A report on "Saksi" quoted Alcid as saying Annabelle followed him, bringing a bread knife with her. He said he tried to avoid her but she followed him.
Ilocos Sur Gov. Luis Singson eventually pacified Annabelle, who left with husband Eddie Gutierrez.
But Annabelle in posts on her Twitter account claimed it was Alcid who followed her to the comfort room and then confronted her.
"Kaya ko siya hinampas ang yabang kase dahil marami syang kasama. Duwag matapang ka lang sa Facebook at Twitter (I hit him because he was so arrogant and he thinks he can get away by bringing may companions with him. He's brave only on Facebook and Twitter)," she said.
