One Direction to Release New Song From Second Album in September
One Direction are not slowing down when it comes to crafting music. The band member Niall Horan recently stated that they have already begun working on their second studio installment in between their tight schedule of Up All Night Tour dates.
"We've been recording already, actually. When we came back from Australia, we had a couple weeks off and then we went straight into the studio to get cracking on the next album," he told MTV News. "And then last week we were in L.A. and we had five days off the tour to record in L.A. so we recorded more there."
The five-piece group expect to finish the album at the end of summer for a targeted fourth-quarter release. The first single of their sophomore set, meanwhile, is planned to be released in September this year as Horan spilled, "Then obviously we've got to make a decision for a single soon, 'cause we have to get a single out towards September, I suppose."
Speaking of one material they created for the upcoming album, the 18-year-old singer gushed, "We wrote an absolutely cracking song that we're all kind of very excited about." He, however, denied rumor that the lead single off the effort was titled "Heartbreaker".
"I read that on Twitter," he said of the swirling report. "It's not true at all. We actually don't even have a song called 'Heartbreaker.' That's not gonna happen."
One Direction shot to stardom following the release of their debut album "Up All Night", which peaked at No. 1 of Billboard 200 in its debut week. The achievement made them the first UK group in U.S. chart history to debut at number one with their first album. The set boasts award-winning single "What Makes You Beautiful".
