Jackie Rice May Be Off Plates Of Carbo But Denies She’s Anorexic

Returning via a brand-new Kapuso series is Jackie Rice, who has not been on TV for eight months since the mature-themed “Sisid” ended its afternoon swim.

The “Kasalanan Bang Ibigin Ka” lead star is apprehensive if the public will welcome her back.

“Nanibago ako sa taping. I almost forgot the blockings, yung angles, etc. Kinabahan din ako kasi nga ang tagal kong nawala [sa TV] but supportive naman yung mga ka-trabaho ko kaya nawala yung kaba ko,” Jackie admitted in a recent interview with Bulletin Entertainment during a Kapuso event in Laoag, Ilocos Norte.

Distracting about the “StarStruck 3” winner is her obvious weight loss. Jackie was visibly thinner than when she did a sexy cover for FHM magazine in January 2010.

Unfazed by critics claiming she is actually suffering from anorexia (eating disorder), Jackie said: “Hindi po ako anorexic. Kaya po ako pumayat ay dahil sa sports. I tried scuba diving, boxing, swimming and firing, pero di ko kinaya yung firing.”

Pay-Off Time For Jackie

Jackie didn’t mind waiting for eight months to get another TV project. According to the budding actress, her “comeback” through “Kasalanan Bang Ibigin Ka” is paying off.

“I get positive feedbacks from people. May good chemistry daw kami ni Geoff (Eigenmann, one of her leading men in the series),” she said.

“Kasalanan” also partners Jackie with Geoff’s dad, Michael De Mesa.

Jackie couldn’t help but feel proud working with the veteran actor. “Napakagaling na artista ni Michael De Mesa. Suwerte ako at nakatrabaho ko siya,” she said.

“Kinabahan ako [with some kissing/love scenes] pero maganda yung story at pwede siyang mangyari sa totoong buhay,” she explained.
