Anne Curtis gets full star treatment in Hollywood film

The crime thriller Anne Curtis is currently shooting in California may not be a big Hollywood production by a major studio, but it is a certified international project for which Anne is getting the full professional star treatment.

She is billetted in a five-star hotel in Los Angeles and has her own production assistant. During her days off, Anne drives herself around town to meet friends and relatives in the area.

Until her recent tweets, the 26-year-old actress had been tight-lipped about the project because her contract simply did not allow her to divulge anything about it for marketing reasons.

The first promotional materials for the movie, called “Blood Ransom”, have just been released online. They are fake missing-persons posters that include one of Anne’s.

As the title and the posters suggest, “Blood Ransom” is a crime thriller. What they don’t reveal just yet is the film’s noirish framework and dark supernatural premise. “No Other Woman” it is not.

The film was written and is being directed by Filipino-American Francis de la Torre. The producer is Tectonic Films, an American movie company with a team that is based in the Philippines.

Tectonic produced the 2011 romantic comedy “Subject: I Love You” starring Jericho Rosales, Dean Cain, Briana Evigan, and Dante Basco.

Anne was asked to audition for the movie in March here in Manila. The Filipino-Australian actress was selected for the female lead role a week later over several actresses, including some Americans.

The role wasn’t written for any specific ethnicity. It’s also a very enigmatic character, which is the heart and soul of the movie, and Anne’s Amerasian features no doubt only deepens the air of mystery about her.

When the “Annebisyosa” star bade farewell on “Showtime” two weeks ago to leave for the US to work on the movie, all she said was that she was going to work on a project that was “a dream come true”.

She is scheduled to finish her scenes and be back in Manila by the third week of June. ”Blood Ransom” will be shown in the US in 2013.
